weorð Etymology
To most people being called weird is an insult. Well I think it is an honor to be one.
Digging into its etymology, the words, weird and worthy, came from the same Old English root word – weorð – which could mean a sundry of things (fate, destiny, to become, etc.). If I am rooting for a life in truth, I’d choose to see that at times, being weird just says how unique My Creator is. He made me in His likeness. Who can tell if God isn’t at all odd or eccentric just like some of us are.
Great writers and other personages in history had their own quirks too that are unknown to us; case in point, being weird is definitely worth it! And even the weird ones have great meaty stories to tell 🙂 and also, weird insights 🙂
